Alice Charlene Clanton, 83, passed away Tuesday, September 11

Alice Charlene Clanton, 83, of Sodus, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville with her loving family by her side.

Alice was born on May 13, 1935 in Paxton, Indiana, to the late Volney & Bessie Snyder. She graduated from LaPorte High School, Class of 1953.  Alice married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Cliff Clanton, on July 24, 1954. Together they had three children and celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage. She lived her life to honor God and loved her family deeply. Alice inspired and impacted many lives and was loved by all who knew her. An avid nature lover, Alice also enjoyed gardening and real estate renovation projects with her husband.

She is survived by her devoted husband Cliff; her children Linda Cohen of Kansas City, MO, Flynn (Renee) Clanton of Springfield, MO, Melissa (James) Marckese-West of Orlando, FL; her nine grandchildren Sasha, Samantha (Juan), Brooks, Olivia, Sophia, Laurie, Rachel, Landon and Ireland; seven great-grandchildren Deyah, Damos, Allen, Annalise, Stella, Jude, and Croix. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers William Snyder and Richard Snyder, and her son-in-law Todd Marckese.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 15 at Blue Roof Church, 3084 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Reverands Hans Frank, Dan Miller and Flynn Clanton officiating.  Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda.  Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M.
