Betty JoAnn Dlouhy


 

Betty J. Dlouhy, 78, of Stevensville, passed away, Monday, August 3, 2015 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman, with her family by her side. 

Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Mary Shawl-Ranke, Hospice Chaplain officiating.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Bridgman.  Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Betty was born December 29, 1936 in Stevensville, Michigan to Charles & Hazel (Harris) Johnson.  On May 8, 1954, she married James Dlouhy, Jr. in Stevensville.  She was a loving Mother to four daughters.  She was a talented seamstress & cook as well as working at Canteen for several years.  Betty devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.  Betty also had many pets over the years that were very special to her. She was a very special, caring and compassionate person who will be genuinely missed every moment and kept in our heart forever.

Betty is survived by James- her husband of 62 years; three daughters-Barbara Walsh & Diana Romeo of Stevensville, Carol Palmer of St. Joseph Township; three grandchildren-Trey & Natalie Romeo, and Kathleen Walsh; a nephew Richard Johnson, Jr.; and other relatives & friends too numerous to mention.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Marilyn Jane Owca-whom she will rest next to, and her brother Richard Johnson, Sr.
