Beverly M. Koroch-Hirsch, 87, passed away May 23, 2019

Beverly M. Koroch-Hirsch, 87, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, May 23, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.



A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Private burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Bev was born June 27, 1931 in Coloma, Michigan to Byron & Lucille (Anderson) Ashbrook. She graduated from Watervliet High School, Class of 1949 and attended Twin Cities Business College. On October 11, 1953, she married Melvin “Jake” Koroch in St. Joseph. After raising her family, Bev served as Bainbridge Township Clerk from 1972 until her retirement in 2000, and served as the secretary of the Michigan Township Association for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Jake on March 10, 1998. On September 18, 1999 she married Henry “Hank” Hirsch in St. Joseph. Bev was a long-time member of the First Church of God where she served in many capacities-as Sunday School Teacher, Church Council, Women of the Church of God, numerous committees, and participated in Small Groups, the Prime-Timers, and Bible Study Fellowship. She cherished the time spent with her family and many friends.



Bev is survived by her husband Hank; her children-Cindy (Steve) Duran of St. Joseph, Cathie (George) Clark of Grand Rapids, Jennifer Hirsch of Benton Harbor; seven grandchildren-Angela (Aaron) Blessing, Sara (Scott) Nihart, Lisa (Nate) Reusser, Tracey (Justin) Krueger, Chris (Jill) Clark, Nick (Audra) Clark & Ryan Clark; ten great-grandchildren; her brother James (Lois) Ashbrook of Bridgman; her sister Pattie (Kevin) Effa of St. Joseph; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband Jake, she was preceded in death by her son Michael Koroch on April 5, 2001, and her sister & brother-in-law Jean & James Edgell.
