Type of Incident:  Breaking and Entering (Bank)

Location of Incident:  201 W. Mars St., Berrien Springs, (Fifth Third Bank)

Agencies Involved:  Berrien Springs-Oronoko Twp. P.D., Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police.

Narrative:  At approximately0659 hours on Sunday, November 4, 2018 officers were dispatched to the Fifth Third bank at 201 W. Mars St. in the Village of Berrien Springs on a report of a breaking and entering. As the officers arrived on scene, they were advised the suspect was still inside the bank.  A short time later, the suspect was taken into custody, without incident, as he tried to exit the bank.

The suspect was attempting to steal rolled coins and other items.  The bank’s vault was not entered.  The suspect, a 24 year old male, was lodged at the Berrien County Jail.  All items stolen from inside the bank have been recovered.

Suspect:  Dwayne Anthony Moore, Jr., B/M, 24 years old, of Berrien Springs, Mi.

Note:  This incident remains under investigation by the Berrien Springs-Oronoko Twp. Police Department.
