Caroline A. Bodjack Rozinski, 98, passed away April 6, 2019

Caroline A. Bodjack Rozinski, 98, of Stevensville, MI, passed away Saturday April 6, 2019, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland, St. Joseph, MI. She was born March 19, 1921, at home in Stevensville, the fifth of eight children born to the late John C. and Minnie (Greiffendorf) Bodjack, Sr. She was predeceased by her siblings, Marguerite Paul, Florance Radde, MaryAnn Ball, John Jr, Joseph, Eugene and Patricia Woods. On December 27, 1947 she married Harry Rozinski in Angola, IN and he passed 27 February 1983.

Caroline graduated from Stevensville High School in 1940. She and her sisters organized annual SHS Alumni banquets from 1936 to 2015. She was a cheerleader in high school and later at her grand and great-grandchildrens’ sporting and school events. After high school, she worked at Industrial Rubber, Stevensville Post Office, and noontime recess supervisor at Stevensville Elem. of Lakeshore. She enjoyed working outdoors and always barefoot, knitting and sewing-alternating garments to her liking, and dancing. She was unique and feisty.

Survivors include three daughters: Kathy (Michael) Phipps and Jane (Robert) Hierholzer both of Stevensville, and Gloria Woodward of Harrison, MI. Six grchildren: Steven (Leslee) Ottosen of Cheney, WA; Theresa (Donald) Rath of Chesterton, IN, Kristine Tait of FL, and Bobby Hierholzer of Stevensville; Melinda Hayes of Grand Ledge, MI, and Anna (Ian) Hatcher of Lansing, MI. 12 gr-grchildren: Hailey, Michaela and Allison Ottosen; Emily and Ellen Rath; Abigail and Keaton Tait; Chloe and Skylar Cantrelle and Nicholas Hayes; Novella and Alice Hatcher. Her cousin, Jean Greiffendorf Ott of Baroda, and long-life friend, Dorothy Fiedler Kramer of Stevensville.

Visitation will be Friday, April 12, 2019, from 5-8pm at Starks &Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family or to the donor’s choice. A private service will be at a later date with inurnment in Lincoln Charter Twp Cem., Stevensville.
