Cheryl L. Schinck, 71, passed away Jan. 22, 2020

Cheryl L. Schinck, 71 of Coloma, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 22, 2020 at Spectrum Health, Lakeland in St. Joseph.

Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, Jan. 25 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home where visitation will begin at 12 noon.  Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Cheryl may be made to the North Berrien Firefighters Assoc.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so by using the "Guestbook" link located on this page.

Cheryl was born Feb. 4, 1948 in Watervliet, Michigan to Miles and Dorothy (Johnson) Rendell.  She graduated from Coloma High School and received her diploma in the hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia from Principal Weir. Cheryl was married to Maurice “Skip” Schinck on September 10, 1966 until his death on January 6, 2017.  She worked for Coloma Community Schools as a bus driver, retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service.

Cheryl enjoyed being with her family. Her first priority was her husband and three girls. She never missed a dance class, recital, cheerleading, softball, basketball game or event. She loved watching her grandchildren at all their sporting events. She enjoyed gambling on Wheel of Fortune, shopping at CJ Banks, watching the Lifetime channel,  and traveling as much as she could with her favorite animal being a dolphin. She was with her children and grandchildren as we traveled to Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Florida, California, Ohio and so many more.

Survivors include her three daughters; Kim (Terry) Derrick, Cynthia (David) LaGrow, and Carrie Schinck, a sister; Diane (John) Gunn, two brothers; John (Sue) Rendell and Larry (Marci) Rendell, seven grandchildren; TJ, Brooke, Paige, Caleb, Cameron, Miles and Maurissa, and a great grandson Truex.  Also surviving are special nieces and nephews; Billy and Krissy Tohtz, Michael and Sherri Ulleg, and her dog Molly.
