Chester J. Barowicz, 89, of Stevensville, passed away, Saturday, February 20, 2016 at his home. 

Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted by Chaplain Corwin Krugh and the North Berrien Military Rites Team at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home.  Those wishing to sign Chet’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com

Chet was born March 8, 1926 in St. Joseph to Andrew & Anna (Dombrowski) Barowicz.  He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1944 and entered the US Navy, serving his country during WWII.  On May 19, 1951, he married the former Leona Krugh in Benton Harbor.  Chet was employed as a tool & die maker with New Products in Benton Harbor, retiring after 45 years.  Chet enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and many friends. 

Chet is survived by his wife Leona; two daughters-Denise Barowicz & Andrea Barowicz, both of St. Joseph; numerous nieces & nephews; and friends too numerous to mention.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edmund Barowicz, and three sisters-Olga “Peggy” Baker, Elizabeth “Betty” Huck & Carol Oles.
