The Curtis Family

Kiarre Sharone Curtis was born August 21, 1991 in Berrien Center, MI to Charles Booker and Vanessa Turner.  She attended Delton Kellogg High School and graduated in 2008. She became a Certified Nurses Assistant in 2015.

Kiarre was united in holy matrimony to Samuel Curtis on March 14, 2014. Together they had six children. Five boys Marquise, Gerome, Samuel Jr, Savod and Avery. One daughter Autumn.

She attended church all her life. She Eventually became a member of Trinity Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Overseer John H. McCoy. During her time at Trinity, Kiarre did whatever her hands found to do, including working with the youth and working in the kitchen with her husband. Her favorite scripture was Proverbs 12:1” Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge, But he that hateth reproof is brutish.

Kiarre was known for her friendly nature and outspoken personality. She was the life of the of the party always making people laugh. She adored and protected her children. After five boys, Autumn affectionally known as Honey was a breath of fresh air. The daughter she longed for and in fact treated her like a princess always by her side.   If anyone knew Kiarre you knew the love she had for her children. She would protect them at all cost.

On July 28th, 2018 Kiarre and her five boys tragically lost their lives in a fire. She left this Earth doing what she knew best protecting her babies.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Vanessa Turner. Paternal Grandmother Patricia Booker, Maternal Grandparents: Otis and Elaine Turner.

Precious memories of her life remain in her husband, Samuel Cornelius Curtis and daughter Autumn Lynn Curtis of Benton Harbor, MI. Her father Charles Booker of Grand Rapids, MI a number of brother and sisters, as well a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members she loved dearly.

Marquise Thompson was born on February 19, 2008 in Detroit, MI to Kiarre Turner. Marquise was the protector, the  leader of the bunch.  Marquise had a gentle soul, he always showed compassion towards other. He attended Countryside Academy Charter School and his teachers adored him. He loved science and bugs, he aspired to be a veterinarian. Marquise gained his wings on July 28, 2018. He will be greatly missed on Earth, but his presence was needed with God.

Gerome Randolph was born on December 25, 2010 in St. Joseph, MI to Gerome Randolph and Kiarre Turner. He was known as the fruit man, he loved him some fruit and made sure his Nana had fruit for him. Gerome was also known for his playfulness and sparkling personality and he always kept a smile on his face even when he was mad at you. He attended Countryside Academy. Gerome gained his wings on July 28, 2018, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but he now resting in the Lord’s arms.

Samuel Curtis Jr. was in St. Joseph, MI on August 26, 2012 to Samuel and Kiarre Curtis. Samuel was affectionately called “Man Man”.  He was very smart. He was the apple of his Nana’s eye. He was very sweet and caring and full of energy.  He departed this life on July 28, 2018 and crossed over to a better place. His smile will be forever in our hearts.

Savod Curtis was born in St. Joseph, MI on November 22, 2013 to Samuel and Kiarre Curtis. He was the definition of a Momma’s boy. He was all boy. Full of energy. Savod’s mission on Earth was completed on July 28, 2018 as he was called home along with his mother and brothers. His loving and gentle spirit will be treasured.

Avery Lee Curtis was born in St. Joseph, MI on November 10, 2015 to Samuel and Kiarre Curtis. Although we were only privileged enough to have him on Earth for two and a half short years, he will be greatly missed. He brought such joy and laughter to the lives of his family. He loved Spider-Man and trucks, especially BIG trucks. His deep voice will greatly be missed. He fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on July 28, 2018, his presence on earth will be missed, but God needed him more.

A Celebration of Life Homegoing Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Greater Community Christian Fellowship, 870 Nate Wells Sr. Dr., Benton Harbor, with Pastor Bruce McCoy officiating.  Friends may visit one hour prior.   Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma.  Family Hour will be from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 10 at Trinity Church of God in Christ, 2029 Red Arrow Hwy., Benton Harbor.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Curtis Family Memorial c/o Honor Credit Union.  Those wishing to sign the Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com
