Daniel Ernest Hacker 50, of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2017 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Dr. Christopher Noffke officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 5-8 PM on Thursday, June 15, 2017 also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or Wounded Warrior Project. Dan was born on November 25, 1966 to Daniel Ray and Irene Joyce (Gitterson) Hacker in St. Joseph, MI. He was employed by Harbor Metal Treating, PR & D and most recently by Prime Metals in Benton Harbor for the last 19 years. On October 26, 1990 he married Sharon Geike. Dan was known by his friends as “Dan the Man”. He was a selfless man, who through the gift of donation enabled others to live. Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to concerts. Most of all, He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Dan is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sharon; daughter, Ashley Sierra Hacker of St. Joseph; sons, James Robert Knuth of Benton Harbor and Justin William Knuth of St. Joseph; brothers, Richard (Patricia) Stephen, James (Diane) Stephen and Patrick (Joanne) Hacker; sisters, Patricia Hacker and Pam Skoda; grandchildren, Emma Lynn and Ava May Knuth; seven nieces; six nephews;

special friends, Jim and Janice Tull, Zachary Hall and Naomi and Ed Cottrell and favorite secretary Roxanne Pitcher of Prime Metals.
