Donald “Don” D. Bly Sr., 84, passed away on June 2

Donald “Don” D. Bly Sr., 84, of Stevensville, passed away on June 2, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at 11AM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Brett Ehlke officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, June 4, 2018, from 5PM until 7PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Caring Circle. Don was born on January 31, 1934, to Durward & Mildred (Steltzer) Bly in Benton Harbor. He graduated from St. Joseph High School. On March 8, 1958, he married Joan Binger at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Don worked as a delivery man for Canteen Services as well as owned and operated his own farm. On his farm, he enjoyed raising pigs and helped take care of his granddaughter’s horse he bought for her. Don also liked to listen to Lakeshore High School sporting events on the radio. Most of all, Don loved to spend his time with his family.

Don is survived by his children, Donald (Lisa) Bly Jr., of Stevensville and Grant (Cindy) Bly of St. Joseph; granddaughter Brittany (Joseph) Harden of Berrien Springs; and brothers, Ronald Bly of Ionia, MI, and Robert Bly of Berrien Springs.

Don was preceded his death by his wife Joan Bly and parents, Durward & Mildred Bly.
