Dorothy “Skip” Edwards, 72, of Stevensville, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, after a short illness.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Minister Justin Shepherd & Minister Jeff Oliver officiating.  Private burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Michiana Church of Christ Building Fund.  Those wishing to sign Skip’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Skip was born December 14, 1942 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Ernest & Dorothy (Mendenhall) Kizer.  She graduated from Bangor High School in 1960 where she was crowned Miss Bangor and Miss Blossomtime the same year.  On April 15, 1975, she married James Edwards in Bridgman.  Skip worked in the medical industry her whole life as a medical transcriptionist for several area doctors, as well as operating her own transcription business.  She was a member of the Michiana Church of Christ in Dowagiac and spent many years in the Shoreline Sounds Barbershop Group.

Skip is survived by her husband James; two daughters-Cindy (Garrick) Zuver of Brooklyn, MI & Saskia (Jean) LeRoux of South Africa; two grandsons-Richard William Zuver & Benjamin James LeRoux;  her extended family members & her Church Family at Michiana Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her father Ernest Kizer & her mother & step-father Dorothy & Carl Geiszer.
