Dorothy was born on June 2, 1928, to Forrest & Alma (Bizer) Snow. She married Martin Montey, who preceded her in death in July of 1979. Dorothy was a natural born caregiver and had a passion for helping people. For many years she worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor and Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph. After retirement, Dorothy enjoyed traveling. She went on various bus trips arranged through Sarett Nature Center, spent time on an Alaskan cruise and traveled with her family to a cabin up north. Dorothy also had a passion for nature. She loved being in the outdoors and capturing all the beautiful moments on camera. She was a proud member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a volunteer for The American Red Cross and Michigan Blood. Above all else, Dorothy loved her family. Attending family events and spending quality time with family members gave her so much joy.

Dorothy is survived by her nieces, Janet (Shawn Ronan) Hansen of Benton Harbor and Carol (Donald) Anderson of Harrisburg, PA; nephew, Kenneth Gray of South Bend, IN; great-nieces, Megan, Jennifer, Teresa, and Stephanie; six great-great nieces and nephews, with two on the way; and step-son, Marty (Marsha) Montey of Georgetown, TX.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest & Alma, husband, Martin; and twin sister, Marjorie Gray.
