Dorothy Viola (Priebe) Lake, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 13, 2017 in Stevensville.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, August 18, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Burial to follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 12:00 PMuntil the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caring Circle Hospice or the Berrien County Cancer Service. Dorothy was born April 14, 1930 to Reinhold & Tabea (Wolf) Priebe and was raised on a farm in Eau Claire. She was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School in 1948. Dorothy worked various clerical positions over the years before retiring.  On October 4, 1952 she was married to Jean Duane (J.D.) Lake.  She was a member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church and later a longtime member of Lakeshore Baptist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Cheryl (Jim) Lamborn of Springfield, Ohio, Kellie (Bill) Wright  of Wilmar, Minnesota and Curt (Sue) Lake of Stevensville; grandchildren Joshua Wright, William Wright, Kimberlee Smith, Christopher Wright, Andrew Lake and Joseph Lake; siblings Sieghard Priebe, Rosie Nimtz-Tanis, Richard Priebe, George Priebe and Roger Priebe.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Dorothy will be long remembered by the many individuals who so genuinely and tenderly cared for her over the last 13 years at Woodland Terrace Senior Living in Bridgman and Pine Ridge Nursing Center in Stevensville.  Her family is very grateful for those caring hands and spirits.
