Eugene B. Rokely, 88, of Bridgman passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at The Willows in St. Joseph.

Memorial Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 N. Church Street, Bridgman, with Pastor Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bridgman. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 - 7 PM Monday, at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, 310 N. Gene was born August 17, 1926 in Bridgman, the son of the late Alma “Al” and Lois (Broadbeck) Rokely. On July 22, 1950, Eugene married Loie Elaine Anderson and they have shared 64 years together. Eugene was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He is a veteran having served in the US Navy. He was a former president of LaSalle Bank now Edgewater Banks, and a former mayor of Bridgman. He was a members of the Lion’s Club in Bridgman. Eugene was on the Board of Directors and past president of The Federal Home Loan Board. Dad was always sought out as a leader; he never met a stranger. Gene will always be remembered for: loving boating and sailing and being on water, loved a good game of golf with family and friends, summers on Paw Paw Lake, and winters in Nokomis, Florida where he also golfed and boated. Gene did everything with a zest for life.

Eugene is survived by his wife Loie; children: Scott (Patricia) Rokely of Dewitt, Jan A. Rokely of Bridgman; grandchildren: Amy Rhew, Brett Rhew, Rick Rokely; great grandchildren: Brielle Rhew, Vaughn Rhew.

Eugene was also preceded in death by two brothers, John R. Rokely and Al Rokely and a sister, Janet Rennhack.
