Eugene F. Tutton, 84, passed away November 27, 2020

Eugene F. Tutton, 84, of Coloma, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service celebrating his life will be held 6:00 pm Friday, December 11 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 4 pm until time of service.  Donations in memory of Gene may be made to the Coloma FOP Lodge 147 or Berrien County Animal Control.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so by selecting the "Guestbook" link on this page.

Gene was born January 15, 1936 to George Sr. and Thelma (Stevens) Tutton. His grandfather Dr. Henry V. Tutton founded Mercy Hospital, now Spectrum Lakeland. Gene graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1954 and on March 1, 1958 he married Joyce (McQueen) Tutton.  Soon after being married he went into the Army and served our country in Germany during the Cold War Era.  In the early 1960s he began working at Bendix, now Bosch, where he was an Engineer and eventually retired in 2007. Gene had a passion for flower gardening, fish tanks, all animals especially chickens and enjoyed mole hunting and playing cards.

Survivors include his son Bryan (Leigh Ann) Tutton and daughter Lori Romeo both of Coloma; three grandchildren, Mikayla and Micah Romeo, and Brett Tutton of Coloma; and one great granddaughter Desiree Romeo. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Joyce in 2017 and brothers George Jr. and Jess.
