Fred E. Pries, III, 60, passed away December 17, 2018

Fred E. Pries, III, 60, of Coloma, passed away, Monday, December 17, 2018 at his home.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M.  Friday, December 21, 2018 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.  Private burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens.  Memorials in Fred’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.  Those wishing to sign Fred’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Fred was born September 18, 1958 in St. Joseph to Fred & Helen (Kasischke) Pries, Jr.  He graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1976.  On September 20, 2003, he married the former Anngela Lewellen in Las Vegas.  Fred was employed his entire career in the printing industry, the majority with Walsworth Publishing Co., formerly Imperial Printing Co. in St. Joseph, retiring in 2014.  He was a hardworking man who was always busy doing something.  Fred enjoyed fishing, boating, being outdoors, video gaming, tossing horseshoes, bowling, shooting pool, following his favorite band-Creedence Clearwater Revival, having a beer or shot of Crown Royal with his friends, and especially the time spent with his family and his dogs.

Fred is survived by his wife Anngela; his daughters-Sandra “Shelly” (Wesley) Cummings of Kailua, Hawaii, Rachael “First Mate” Pries of Stevensville, Brenda “Lew” Lewellen of Coloma; two grandchildren-Preston Pries & Viktoria Cummings; his siblings-Marjorie (Paul Baker) Pries of Chicago, Linda Pries of Benton Harbor, Laura (Steve “Patch” Hamilton) Pries of Newberry, FL, Andrea (Kevin) Tait of Bangor, MI, Thomas (Anne) Craig of Kentucky, Mark Craig of Missouri, Brian Craig of South Haven; his step-father & step-mother Thomas & Darlene) Craig of Lawrence, MI; numerous nieces & nephews; and his canine companions-Tater & Totty.  He was preceded in death by his parents-Fred Pries, Jr. & Helen Craig.
