Gary L. Perrone, 65, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018, peacefully at home with his family by his side.

A Celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, May 21, 2018, at Calvary’s Lighthouse Church, 2651 E. Main St., Benton Twp, MI., with Pastor Charles Engler officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 3-5 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Gary was born on October 12, 1952 in Benton Harbor to the late Samuel and Agnes (Dunn) Perrone. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School, class of 1970. On November 19, 1977, he married the love of his life, Betty L. Borah in Calvary’s Lighthouse Church, which Gary was a lifetime member of and which he and his family helped to build. He was a talented musician, able to play several instruments and regularly played and sang at church. Gary felt there was a song for everything in life. Throughout his life he had several careers, most notably owning Perrone’s Painting & Maintenance for 30 years. Gary was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being a gun smith. He was happiest when he was outside working and gardening. He was a selfless man who stayed true to his Christian values. But most of all, Gary cherished his family.

Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty; children, Angelica (Joe) Musick of Benton Harbor, Venchessa (Mike) Hosinski of Grand Rapids and Rashonda Perrone of Benton Harbor; grandchildren, Peyton, Preston, Paxton and Arabella Musick and Levi Hosinski arriving in July; siblings, Robert Perrone, Sr., Jerry Perrone, Sr., Samuel Perrone, Jr., Rhonda Sorrels, and James Perrone.
