Gregory M. “Greg” Pesko, 67, passed away on May 29, 2019

Gregory M. “Greg” Pesko, 67, of St. Joseph, passed away on May 29, 2019, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.



A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019, 11:00 AM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel. Greg was born March 15, 1952, in St Joseph, MI to George and Arlene (Peterball) Pesko, on March 15, 1952 in Benton Harbor. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1972 and earned his teaching degree from Western Michigan University in 1977. Greg taught at Berrien Spring Schools for 41 years influencing many students in Social Studies and the Art and Drama Departments. He loved to build the sets and watch them come alive for the musicals. He also built many floats for Berrien Springs, the Indianapolis 500 parade and the Blossomtime Grand Floral Parade. Greg worked for many years on the Miss Berrien Springs Queen’s committee. He was a proud board member of Blossomtime for 22 years, using his artistic background to build sets for the Blossomtime Pageant. Greg loved Disney and visited every year for the last 27 years, his favorite movies were The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Finding Nemo. When he was not working Greg was an avid gardener, the brighter the colors the better.



Greg is survived by his brother Gary; and many cousins. Greg was preceded in death by his parents George and Arlene Pesko; aunts and uncles, Mike, Alex, Frank, Annie, Lou and Lorraine.
