Jacquelyn Mary McAllister

Jacquelyn McAllister, 83, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Monday, May 25, 2015. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MI.

Jacquelyn was born December 12, 1931 in Bloomington, IL to William and Margaret (Walsh) Moore. On May 16, 1953 in St. Joseph, MI she married her high school sweetheart, the late (Oct. 8, 2004) Thomas McAllister. Jacquelyn was a parishioner and active volunteer at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a ‘lunch lady’ at Lake Michigan Catholic School for several years. Jacquelyn also volunteered at Lakeland Hospital. She loved arts and crafts, was an avid reader and a great lover of all family and friends.

Jacquelyn is survived by her two daughters – Mary Meyers of St. Joseph and Maureen (David) Petersen of Glen Ellyn, IL; four grandchildren – Michael (Sarah) Meyers, Megan (Morgan) Monfort, Ryan and Aidan Petersen; five great grandchildren – Clara, Elijah, Layla, Kaitlyn and Cayla; and several nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 30, 10:00am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph, MI, with luncheon at The Rose Center immediately following. Visitation is on Friday, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, with prayers at 7:45pm, at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Burial will be at a later date at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice At Home or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
