Jennie Robatzek

 

Jennie Robatzek, 97, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Father Thomas McNally officiating.  Jennie will be cremated and her cremains will be brought back to Kansas at a later date where she will be laid to rest with her late husband. Jennie was born October 27, 1918 in Frontenac, KS to Fernando & Antonia (Arbore) Manescalchi.  After she graduated from Frontenac High School, Jennie moved to Chicago where she met her husband Ewald, raised her family, and eventually retired from the 3M Company.  After retiring, she moved to New Port Richey, Florida, where she enjoyed volunteering at the local hospital for 25 years.   She belonged to the Polish Club and enjoyed polka dancing with her husband.  She loved to travel, crochet, and spend time with family and friends.

Jennie is survived by her daughters Judy (Mike) Smith of Stillwater, OK and Carole (Jack) Thielmann of St. Joseph; grandchildren Nick Thielmann, Jennifer (Rich) Tebell, Bobby (Sung Jin) Robatzek, Merilee (Duncan) Johnstone, Tony (Krista) Robatzek, Justin (Kathy) Smith, Jocelyn (Jon) Kattke; great-grandchildren Sophia Robatzek, Katie & Lizzie Johnstone, Derek & Tyler Smith, Hunter Kattke, Zachary, Jordyn & Brooke Tebell; brother Eugene (Maryanne) Manescalchi of Naperville, IL; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband Ewald Robatzek in 1990, son Wally Robatzek in 2000, parents and siblings Marie & Albert Manescalchi
