John was born October 7, 1934 in Marshall, MI to Floyd and Anna Theo (Ford) Hendricks.  After graduating high school he honorably served his country in the Army. John then pursued studies in interior design at the University of Florida. Following the loss of his brother, Robert, he returned to Marshall to care for his mother in 1958.  In 1975 he met his life’s partner, Byron Stone, who remained by his side the rest of his life.

Over the course of John’s career, he worked for several design firms before establishing John Hendrick’s Designs, in Chicago, IL.  His services were in high demand.  He created both residential and business masterpieces for his clients – many whom became lifelong friends.  John’s entire life was filled with art, classical music and design.  After retirement, he and Byron settled in Baroda cherishing quiet days at home overlooking grape vineyards and spending time in the company of their dogs. They also enjoyed spending hours with dear friends, near and far; especially their neighbors, Tim and Ellen Cote.

John is survived by his partner, Byron.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Hendricks.
