A free spirit full of love and life, has danced into eternity and into the arms of her Savior Jesus.  Kristen Marie Rushlow, 25, of Los Angeles formerly of St. Joseph passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015.  She brought joy into the lives of all she touched sharing her bright smile and hugs making the world a beautiful place by her presence.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am on May 1, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph with Pastor Michael Roth officiating.  Friends may visit from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, April 30, 2015.  Please feel free to wear bright colors to celebrate her brightness in our lives. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Lory’s Place, Lakeland Health Foundation, Western Michigan University Latin program, or Trinity Lutheran School. Kristen was born December 12, 1989 in St. Joseph, MI to Michael & Terri (Frobel) Rushlow. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2008 and went on to receive her Bachelors in Education from Western Michigan University in 2013. Kristen worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at Mirman School for Gifted Children in Los Angeles. She loved spreading the joy of Latin and Greek language and culture to others, both students and friends.

She is survived by her fiancé and love of her life, Ian Hollenbaugh of Los Angeles; parents Michael & Terri Rushlow of St. Joseph; sister Caitlin Rushlow of Pocatello, ID; grandparents Philipp & Loraine Frobel of St. Joseph; godparents Rob and Debbie Rushlow of Stevensville; future in-laws Mark and Laura Hollenbaugh of Saline, MI as well as other family members and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Maurice & Eleanor Rushlow and her uncle David Rushlow.

Kristen saw the beauty in everything and everyone for exactly who and what they were. Remember her by sharing a piece of her light with each other.
