Lois was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Madison, WI. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Benton Harbor, where she lived most of her life. She attended St. John’s Catholic school and then graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1949. In 1950 she married James A. Stancik. They raised four children together before his passing in 1986.

She then moved to St. Joseph where she resided until moving to Woodland Terrace in 2017. Lois worked as a teacher’s aid at Sorter School, then at Lakeshore Jr High. After that, she was a clerk in the Berrien County Treasurers office. After retirement from there, she was a receptionist at Remax Sunset Coast.

She spent her later years with her companion, John Lindenfeld. They enjoyed 23 years together before his passing in 2013. Lois enjoyed working in her lovely garden, eating lunch at the lakefront, and loving her big black cat “Bud”.

Lois’ family wish to express a special thank you to those who provided extra care and support during her final years, particularly Barb and also the attentive and caring staff at Woodland Terrace.

Lois is survived by her four children, Dorothy (Chris) Christensen, Eileen (Drew) Menser, Jim (Abby) Stancik, and Mary (Jen) Stancik; grandchildren, Peter and Erin Menser, and Brandon and Lindsay Gans. She will be missed by us all.
