Marjorie May (Coleman) Wendzel, 88 passed from this life on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Woodland Terrace in Niles, Michigan.

Marjorie was born to Charles and Edith (Hingst) Coleman on January 8, 1927 in Hagar Township. A 1945 graduate of Coloma High School, she met and married her classmate, Donald L. Wendzel in November of 1946.  For over sixty two years they lived and raised two sons on their fruit farm in Bainbridge.

Marge and Don were both accomplished airplane pilots after the war.  They kept their Commonwealth Sky Ranger plane hangered on the farm.  They traveled the country side, and attended air shows in the Midwest in the forties and fifties.

Marjorie was a promoter of agricultural interests as a  member of AAW (American Agra Women) and WSAM (Women for the Survival of Agriculture in Michigan).  She chaired various committees and elected posts in both organizations and earned the coveted Leaven Award in 1992.

She was pr eceded in death by her husband Donald in 2009; her brother Wilber in 1969; her parents Charles and Edith Coleman; and two grandsons Charles Henry and Edward Guy.

Marjorie is survived by her sons David (Patricia) Wendzel and Gordon Wendzel, both of Bainbridge;  four grandsons, Aaron, Brandon (Jennifer), Evan, and Austin Wendzel;  two granddaughters, Ashley (Pawel) Majkowski, and Emily (Richard) Callendar, and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation one hour prior.  Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery in Bainbridge Township.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
