Mary Ann is a graduate of Saint John Catholic High School in Benton Harbor.  In 1961, she married Terence King.  She worked many years at Weil-McLain in Benton Harbor before retiring in 2001.

Mary Ann had an infectious personality, making friends everywhere she went.  She will be missed by all the friends she made in central Michigan, at Masonic Pathways and her home health care nurses, Brad and Brian.

Masonic Pathways and their staff will always be special to us for the care and comfort they provided to Mary Ann and our family.  There are too many people to name, but each of you is special.

She also had a wry sense of humor that was passed down to her children and granddaughter.  Thanks for that.  We were joking around with each other, even in the days before she passed away.

Mary Ann was an avid bowler and bowled in many leagues.  Despite the fact that it looked like every ball was aimed two lanes to her right, she was pretty good and her ball stayed in her lane (most of the time.)

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, needlepoint and ceramics.  She also watched way too much television.  Her favorite shows included Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Hell’s Kitchen.  One of her favorite activities was discussing each episode of The Walking Dead with her nurse, Brad.  She also loved action movies.  She was a big Elvis Presley fan and loved everything Elvis.  One of her cherished memories is visiting Graceland with her daughter and her best friend, Nona Miller.

Mary Ann will be remembered for her talent as a cat bed.  Many times she could be found with the cat fast asleep on her chest.  Which is surprising since she didn’t like cats.  Once Oreo moved in, they became fast friends.  He was an odd cat, a bit aloof and he was your friend on his terms, but not with her.  After Oreo passed away, Missy came along.  She is a friend to everyone and she filled that familiar spot sleeping on Mary Ann’s chest or somewhere else on the bed.

Mary Ann is survived by her son Anthony King of Saint Louis, Michigan; daughter Sandra Wheeler (Otis Mark III) of Saint Joseph, Michigan; granddaughter Jennifer (Benjamin) Myers of Kansas City, Missouri; ex-husband Terence King of Stevensville, Michigan; Missy the cat of Saint Louis, Michigan.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and Oreo the cat.
