Mary Jane Bruley, 97, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center- Stevensville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM, on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph with Deacon Michael Gallagher officiating.  Friends may visit from 12 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Joseph.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Those wishing to sign Jane’s memory book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Jane was born December 24, 1920 in Chicago, IL, to Leslie and Mary (Walsh) Grant.  She served her country as a Communication Specialist in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946.  She also did clerical work in local businesses including Whirlpool.  On June 5, 1948 Jane married Arthur Bruley in Benton Harbor. Jane became a homemaker and raised two children.  She was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed going to the F.O.P. Lodge where she was also a member, and playing bingo with her friends at Caretel Inns.

Jane is survived by her son Arthur P. Bruley, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; daughter, Mary Freeman; parents, Leslie and Mary; brother, Edward Grant; two great-grandchildren and one nephew.
