Mary Liedtke, 90, passed away Friday, November 17

Mary Liedtke, 90, St. Joseph, MI, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, at home surrounded by her loving family.  

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 Tuesday evening November 21, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family before the service from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. Burial will be at Spring Run Cemetery at a later date. Mary was born January 2, 1927 to Edward and Mary (Seraphin) Edelberg in Benton Harbor, MI. She was a 1945 graduate of Benton Harbor High School. On May 17, 1958 she married Arnold Liedtke in Benton Harbor. Mary was a bookkeeper at Remington Rand and secretary at First Assembly of God, Benton Harbor until her retirement in 1985. In addition to her employment, she was a Sunday School teacher for 40 years, a member of Women’s Missions, choir, and director of Junior Church.

Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved Michigan football and vacations to Northern Michigan. But mostly, she loved being at home surrounded by her family.

Mary is survived by her husband, Arnold; daughter, Nancy (Bump) Enders; grandchildren, Amy (Phillip) Fisher and Sarah (Michael deSmith) Enders; great-grandson, Avery Fisher; twin sister, Martha (Oscar) Zwar and her family, Kathy, Diane, Ron (Lori), Mary Sue, and Michael, Rachael and Rebecca, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Olga (Ed) Riley, Jerry (Margaret) Edelberg, Emil (Astrid) Edelberg, and Joseph Edelberg.
