Margaret Ann Arent, 87 of Coloma passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Whitcomb Towers in St. Joseph.

Services celebrating her life will be 12 noon Thursday, June 1 at the Watervliet Free Methodist Church.

Burial will follow in Kniebes Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma.

Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Watervliet Free Methodist Church or Hospice at Home.

Margaret was born February 24, 1930 in Three Rivers to Ralph and Dorothy (Keiser) Miller.

She graduated in 1948 from Mendon High School in addition to graduating from Taylor University in 1952.

She was employed as a personal shopper for Gilmore's Department Store in Kalamazoo before devoting her life to being a full time housewife and mother.

Margaret was a former member of West Mendon UMC and a longtime member of the Bainbridge EUB / New Hope United Methodist Church where she had been the organist and president of United Methodist Women. In addition to being the organist for the church she was well liked, playing for many weddings.

Margaret loved being a house wife by canning, gardening and raising her children.

She also taught sewing, was a 4-H leader, loved to travel to see family, take pictures and music.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Norris, whom she married November 11, 1956; a daughter Beverly Mathos of Grand Rapids, two sons Donald (Elaine) Arent of Taylor, MI, and William (Sara) Arent of Zeeland, MI.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Stephan (Sarah) Mathos, Elyse and Gretchen Mathos, Samuel (Brittany) Arent, Kaitlyn (Bryan) McBride, Nicholas Arent, and Andrew, Emma, and Annalise Arent.
