Wilbur "Bill" Franklin Charleston, Jr., 85 of Bridgman passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home in the care of his family.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018

at First Baptist Church, St. Joseph, 902 Broad Street, St. Joseph with the Rev. Marlo O. Fritzke officiating.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman.

Friends may meet with the family from 4-7 PM Tuesday at the Boyd Chapel,

Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to the Bridgman American Legion Post 331, 4241 Legion Street, Bridgman. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

Bill was born December 11, 1932 in Benton Harbor, the son of the late Wilbur and Twyla (Roosevelt) Charleston, Sr.

On June 28, 1952 he married Patricia Ketelhut and she preceded him in death on November 2, 2006. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church St. Joseph and was a US Army veteran. Bill retired from Clark Equipment in Benton Harbor, he loved family, fishing, hunting and camping and he never met a stranger.

Survivors include two daughters: Debbie Charleston and Lori (Karl) Myers; daughters-in-law: Virginia Charleston and Holly Charleston; five grandchildren: Kari, Kevin (Amy), Richard (Carrie), Cassie(Nick) Soucek and Lexie; nine great grandchildren; a brother: Jim (Michele) Charleston; two sisters: Mary (Richard) Fester and Pat Neuman and a sister-in-law: Esther Charleston.

Bill is also survived by a dear friend and companion, Lodine Companion.

Bill was also preceded in death by two sons: Bruce Charleston in 2017 and Scott Charleston in 2010, a brother: Jack Charleston and a sister, Betty Charleston.
