Multiple Arrests for Drug Trafficking – Benton Harbor


On Friday, June 30, 2017, members of the Southwest Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at 1360 Union Avenue located in the City of Benton Harbor.  Uniformed officers from the Berrien County Sheriff Road Patrol and the Michigan State Police Niles Post assisted with the safe execution of the search warrant, including security at the scene, transportation of arrested suspects, and a canine search.

Upon searching the residence, officers located distribution quantities of crack cocaine, two handguns, and further evidence of narcotics trafficking.

Margaret Casnave (48) was arrested and lodged at Berrien County Jail on felony charges including possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and maintaining a drug house.

Marcus Willis (33) was also arrested and lodged at Berrien County Jail on the charge of conditional release violation. 

The Southwest Enforcement Team will be seeking charges on one additional individual involved in this incident.

The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) is comprised of sworn law enforcement personnel from the Michigan State Police, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Barry County Sheriff’s Office, Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, Kalamazoo Township Police Department, South Haven Police Department, Covert Police Department and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.

SWET is funded in part by the Michigan HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) as well as the U.S. Department of Justice, Byrne JAG grant.
