Myron Gillette, 84, passed away on Monday, Sept. 3

Myron Gillette, 84, formerly of St. Joseph now of Trego, WI, passed away in his home on Monday, Sept. 3, 2018. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.

Myron was born on July 28, 1934 in St. Joseph to the late Clell and Mamie (Hanson) Gillette. After his graduation from St. Joseph High School in 1953, he served his country while in the U.S. Army. On December 1, 1956 he married Shirley Ann Hodder. Myron worked in various sales positions in the cutting tool industry; amongst these were at Kendall Industries, Bendix and Besley-Wells – retiring in 1994 as vice president of sales for Besley-Wells in South Beloit, IL. Myron and Shirley moved to Trego, WI in 1995. He enjoyed golf trips with his high school buddies and hunting and fishing.

Myron is survived by his wife of 61 years Shirley; his two sons – Brad Gillette of Longmont, CO and Brian (Sarah) Gillette of Bloomington, IL; four grandchildren – Dan (Lynnett), Jason, Michael and Kaitlyn Marie; a great grandchild on the way; and brothers – James (Margaret) Gillette of St. Joseph, MI, Elwyn (Alice) Gillette of Scottsdale, AZ, Elwood (Voneda) Gillette of St. Joseph, MI and Victor (Sharon) Gillette of Tuczon, AZ. A grandson Andrew preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 11:30am, with Rev. Dr. Christopher Noffke officiating, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel in St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Visitation precedes the service from 10:00am-11:30am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to Home Care Hospice in Rice Lake, WI. Friends wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at
