Nanette “Nan” Keifer, 66, passed away on Monday, July 30

Nanette “Nan” Keifer, 66, of Hartford, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

A Celebration of life memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2018, at Hartford Federated Church, 65418 Red Arrow Hwy, Hartford with a potluck following. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service also at the church. Burial will take place at a later date in Keeler Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Nan was born on April 1, 1952, to Cyril and Mildred Miles in St. Joseph. She went to St. Joseph High School. On May 9, 1981 she married James Keifer. Nan was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting. She dedicated her life to helping others and especially enjoyed being with children. Nan was very involved in Sunday School & Vacation Bible School at Keeler United Methodist Church, as well as Church Time & Awanas at Hartford Federated Church. She loved all different kinds of music and always had the time for anyone, she never knew a stranger. Nan always enjoyed a good laugh and was always a jokester. Most of all, she cherished her family.

Nan is survived by her husband of 37 years, James Keifer; children, Amanda (Dave Green) Keifer-Bryant and James (Venessa) Keifer; grandchildren “gumdrops”, Rachel and Allison Keifer; brother, Cyril (Donna) Miles Jr.; sister, Millie Miles (the youngest); cousin & best friend, Kate Martin and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Mildred Miles and grandson, PJ Keifer.
