Patricia V. “Pat” Russell, 89, passed away, Tuesday, August 28

Patricia V. “Pat” Russell, 89, of Hagar Shores, passed away, Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at her home. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Pat was born December 15, 1928 in Chicago to Harry & Viola (O’Neill) Cantrell. She graduated from St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic High School, Class of 1946. Her family moved several years later full time to their summer home in Hagar Shores. It was soon after that she met her future husband and the love of her life, Norval Russell. Pat was a bookkeeper & financial advisor for numerous area business’ over her twenty-five plus years career, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she sang in the choir, and served as Communion Minister. She was a former member of St. John’s where she served as CCD principal. She was a member of the Lake Michigan Beach Property Owners Association and enjoyed Lake Michigan and it’s beautiful beaches. Pat was active in Bible Study Fellowship and an avid reader. She was the happiest when she was together with her family.  

Pat is survived by her children-Jim (Suzy) Russell of Bridgman, Cele (Jeff) Collard of Coloma, Ellen Russell of Coloma, Linda (Tony) DeLapa of St. Joseph, Tom (Dana) Russell of Tampa, FL, Joe Russell of Wabash, IN; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; her brother James (Rosemary) Cantrell of Weeki Wachee, FL; and several nieces & nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Norval; her mother Viola Cantrell, her father & step-mother Harry & Elizabeth Cantrell, and her brother & his wife Neil & Margaret Cantrell. The family would like to thank the staff of Caring Circle Hospice for the loving care extended to Pat in her last days.
