Roger Phillip Sliter, 71, passed away on Thursday, April 5

Roger Phillip Sliter, 71, of Indianapolis, formerly of Eau Claire, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM  on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Those wishing to visit with the family may do so from 6-8 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2018 also at the funeral home. Roger was born on June 19, 1946 to Granvil and Anna Mae (Taylor) Sliter in Benton Harbor. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Roger then went on to receive his Associates Degree from Southwestern Michigan College. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. On September 20, 1969, Roger married Jeanette Aviles in Benton Harbor.  His hobbies including reading, riding his motorcycle and at one time weight lifting.  He was a dedicated family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren dearly.  He enjoyed taking trips with his wife, especially on his Honda Goldwing.

Roger is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jeanette; children, Paul (Heather) Sliter of Kalamazoo and Amy (Jayson) McGrath of Indianapolis and grandchildren, Antonio Buhrfiend,  Isabella, Jocelyn and Xavier Sliter, and Wyatt McGrath. He was preceded in death by his parents, Granvil and Anna and sister, Shirley Kline.
