Ron “Ronnie” Gehlhoff

Ron “Ronnie” Gehlhoff, 76, was called to our Lord on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Hanson Hospice Center.

Ronnie married the former Bonnie Flashberger on July 11, 1970. He is the son of the late George and Jane Gehlhoff. He leaves his wife; two children, Paula Gehlhoff and Mary Gehlhoff-Sampson; three grandchildren, Bradlee George Gehlhoff, Jannah Sampson, and Emilee Sampson. His grandson Bradlee was his buddy, and it was always Grandpa and Bradlee. The grandchildren were dear to him as were his children.

Ronnie graduated from Stambaugh High School in 1957. He worked in the woods cutting pulp and worked with a mason building group. The same year he went to Chicago, Illinois to work for Chicago Fire Brick Company to work in the lab, and later as a sales engineer until his retirement 40 years later. After retirement, Ronnie purchased his 1st IH Farmall Cub Tractor just like his father had. His passion grew to restoring other Cub Tractors, a Super A and Super C. He would patriotically display them in the yard and at the tractor show. Telling hunting, fishing, and outdoor stories always brought a smile on Ronnie’s face. He also enjoyed dining out with his family, and visiting with family and friends. He loved the outdoors.

Ronnie also leaves 2 brothers, David Gehlhoff (Jean) of DePere, WI., and Kenny Gehlhoff; 2 sisters, Judy Thier of Green Bay, WI., and Jackie Waite of Iron River, MI.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Marcell and Julie Esbrook; and three brothers-in-law, John Waite, William Marcell, and Jerry Thier.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lakeland Medical Center and Hanson Hospice Center for their service and care.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Cecelia Church in Caspian, Michigan and will be announced at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services in St. Joseph. Those wishing to sign Ronnie’s guest book may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com.
