SMSO 2018-2019 Mainstage Season Announced, Tickets Now On Sale

The Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra presents its 2018-2019 Mainstage Concert Series with Robin Fountain, Music Director. As Maestro Robin Fountain shares, “the 2018-2019 season is balanced between tradition and innovation, the familiar and the exploratory.

On the familiar side we have concerts that are sure to appeal to patrons seeking live performance of music they know and love – the symphonies, and concertos by Mozart, Saint-Saëns and others that we all hum along to with such joy when they appear on music broadcasts.

On the innovative side, we offer events like William Walton’s epic cantata Belshazzar’s Feast that are “must attend,” precisely because the opportunity to experience them is so rare in our region.

In order to present such a wide-ranging concert palette we have taken the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse roster of guest artists, each bringing unique perspective and talent to the task of bringing joy, delight and surprise to our audiences.”

Programming will feature musical talent from the Southwest Michigan Symphony Chorus, local public school choruses, the Lake Michigan Youth Orchestra, and SMSO musicians. An original piece by SMSO member Alan Palider, will also be premiered at our April 14, 2019 concert.

Series subscription tickets are now available by calling 269-982-4030. Patrons can purchase a Grand Series of all five concerts for $145 for Zone A seating, or $85 for Zone B. Purchase a Grand Series before June 1, 2018 and received two Beach Concert tickets! Patrons can also choose our Pick Three series of any three concerts for $99 Zone A seating or $55 for Zone B.
