Steven Kling, 72, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 Delaware in Benton Harbor with Fr. German Perez-Diaz officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with a rosary recited at 7:30 P.M.  Steven was born November 17, 1942 in Benton Harbor, MI to Lyle and Katherine (Sila) Kling. He attended St. Johns Catholic School and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1960. He then attended Western Michigan University and graduated in 1965 with a Bachelors in Business and was part of the Delta Sigma Pi. On November 20, 1965 he married Mary Capovilla in Watervliet, MI. Steven worked for Clark C.M.D. Credit Union and Twin Cities Credit Union as general manager. He also was self-employed for 53 years with Kling’s Tax Service. His latest job before retiring was office manager and secretary clerk for the Berrien County Road Commission. Steven was also a volunteer firefighter for Benton Township for 20 years. In his spare time he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing poker. He also was a fantastic cook.

 Steven is survived by his wife Mary Kling of Benton Harbor; daughters Trina Kling of Fargo, ND and Tisha (Mark) Benton of Portage, MI; brother James (Shawn) Kling of Columbia, TN; sister Mary Jane Ferris of St. Joseph; and many nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Kling in 1960.
