Train vs Pedestrian in Galien

·        Location of Incident: Main Street near Elgin St Village of Galien                                          

·        Agencies Involved: Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Three Oaks    Police Department, Pokagon Tribal Police Department, Three Oaks Ambulance Service, Galien Fire Department, Amtrak Police

·        Arrested Persons:    None

 

Narrative:

   At approximately 2224 hours the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office was called to Main Street in Galien Village at the railroad tracks for a pedestrian that had been struck by a train. Upon arrival of the police units, ambulance, and fire departments it was discovered that a 22 year old male had been struck by the train and was pronounce dead at the scene.

This incident is still under investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office at this time. The family has been notified; however no names are being released at this time.
