The Twin City Players (TCP) announces its first production of its 2018-2019 Mainstage Season, Chicago the Musical,book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, script adaptation by David Thompson.

 

Chicago the Musical: Winner of six Tony® Awards, seven Drama Desk Awards, two Laurence Olivier Awards, and 2 Grammy Awards! In roaring twenties Chicago, chorus girl Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal. This sharp-edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse.

Performances are September 7 - 30, 2018, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. Performances take place at the TCP Playhouse, 600 W. Glenlord Road, St. Joseph.

 

The show is directed by Scott Bradford. The cast includes Kathy McAlhany, Meagan Francis, Bill Downey, Adrienne Glisson, Susan Matheny, Jim Richards, Caitlin Sampsell, Aly Wilson, Aly Richards, Juliet Golob, Meghan Pelkey, Laura Simmons, Kelsey Trux, Tana Johnson, Sarah Simmons, Ellen Higdon, Miranda Stepka, Laura Adams, Cindy Jakeway, Kiana Blake, John Taylor, Jacob Holmes, Dennis Higdon, Joshua Bennett, Stephen Rumley, Peggy Harrington, Anna Pille, Beth DeCoursey, Beth Sekellick, and Kaley Schmidt.

 

Assisting the Director are Production Manager/Assistant Director Maureen Bradford, Music Director Jen Ammerman, Technical Director Marty Golob, Stage Manager Wendy Golob, Choreographer Belle Schmidt, Costumer Julie Smiy, Accompanist Jill Garcia, and Observing Director/Production Assistant David Goodyear.

 

Opening Night Afterglow Reception
On opening night patrons are invited to join the cast and crew after the show for an Afterglow reception featuring refreshments generously provided by Afterglow partners, Lemon Creek Winery and Bit of Swiss Pastry Shoppe.
