Wylna Johnson, 100, passed away October 15, 2018

Wylna Johnson, 100, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 22, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 2950 Lakeview Ave., St. Joseph with Rev. Dan Colthorp officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., Monday at the church. Wylna was born September 4, 1918 in Big Rapids, MI to William & Pearl (Reed) Fitzgerald. She graduated from Big Rapids High School. On October 16, 1941 she married Gordon Johnson in Newaygo, MI. Wylan worked for Heath Co. as a book keeper for many years. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church where she was involved in many activities. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, reading and gardening.

Wylna is survived by her daughter Coleen (Ron) Birmingham; four grand children Jill (Pat) McClure, Aaron (Nancy) Johnson, Nicole (Christian) Moersch and Brandon (Lisa) Birmingham; seven great grandchildren Madison, Harper, Nico, Ava, Breckin, Sofia and Kara; brother Denton Fitzgerald; and sister Marilyn Rolston. Wylna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ronald Johnson, sisters Ruth Frack and Alice Fitzgerald and great granddaughter Kalie McClure.
