Alvina Elizabeth Dieckmann, 102, of Stevensville, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 Church St., St. Joseph, MI with V. Rev. Robert Creagan officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from noon – 1 p.m. on Saturday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650, Niles Rd., St. Joseph with a Rosary at 11:30 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Lake Michigan Catholic Schools or Hanson Hospice Center. Alvina was born on December 30, 1916, to Frank and Mary Beckmann in Granville, Iowa. She attended St. Joseph Catholic High School. On August 20, 1935, she married Henry N. Dieckmann at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Alvina was a lifetime member at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was an avid Notre Dame fan, loved going on walks, drives to Lake Michigan and was known for her beautiful flower garden. Most of all, Alvina cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Donald Dieckman, Rosemary Dukesherer-White, Roger (Andrea) Dieckman and Janet (Joseph) Schulte; grandchildren, Joseph (DeAnna)Dukesherer, Robert (Stacey) Dukesherer, Scott (Amy) Dukesherer, Michael (Asmita) Runge and Jennifer Kinch; great-grandchildren, Amber, Mark (Kaitlin), Caitlyn, Joshua, Jacob, Hannah, Hailey, Austin, Lexi, Andrew, Avi, and Aanavi and nieces and nephews, Sister Sharon Beckmann, OP, Marcia Anstiss, Joseph Beckmann, Jr., Terri (Michael) Graham and Kathryn Martin . She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Mary Beckmann; husband, Henry Dieckmann in 1986; siblings, Joseph Beckmann, Sr. and Agnes Beckmann and sons-in-law, Robert “Duke” Dukesherer and Kenneth Runge.
