Albert Thomas Cowgill Obituary
Albert Thomas Cowgill, 80 of Coloma passed away February 3 at Corewell Health Lakeland in St. Joseph surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Watervliet Free Methodist Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Those wishing to leave an online message for the family may do so at www.duffieldpastrick.com.
Tom was born in Toquin, Michigan on February 7, 1943 to Clinton and Dorothy (Hingst) Cowgill. He worked at Deer Forrest as a teenager and retired as the custodian for Washington Elementary and Coloma Schools in 2000, after 32 ½ years of service. Tom also worked at St. Joseph Catholic School in Watervliet and the Cook Nuclear Plant and was a part of the Berrien County Civil Patrol in 1976. He was an active member of Watervliet Free Methodist Church where he ran the sound and was the custodian for over 40 years, along with being involved in many other church activities including playing softball. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed being an umpire for kids baseball games, playing the accordion, traveling, CB radio, and watching the Cubs, NASCAR and his son do SIM racing on YouTube. Tom loved being involved any way he could in anything that his kids and grandkids were doing.
Tom is survived by his wife Virginia “Ginger”, whom he married July 2, 1977; his children Charity Cowgill, Christopher (Crystal) Cowgill, Adam (Holly) Cowgill, Faith (Cowgill) Anderson, Patrick (Megan) Cowgill and Hope (Jeff) Dauscher; and his brother Gary (Debbie) Cowgill. Also surviving are his grandchildren Elijah, Mikaela, Matthew, Aaron, Jethro, Adally, Zachary, Tyhe, Westin, Kaden, Raven, Maverick, Zeevah, Danyelle, Jace, Jacob and Daisy; and a plethora of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his sister Wanda May Langston and brother Terry Cowgill.
