Adeline Lillian Krieger Obituary
Adeline Lillian Krieger joined her Savior on June 18, 2022 at Caretel Inn St. Joseph. She was 96.
Adeline was born to Frederick and Hannah Grams at her parents’ home in Benton Harbor, Michigan on January 3, 1926. Shortly afterwards she was received into the Lord’s family through Holy Baptism at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. She remained faithful to her baptismal and confirmation vows by being active in young people’s church activities, singing in choir throughout her life, participating in groups to support the Church. She transferred from St. Matthew’s along with her husband and family to become a charter member of a new church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Benton Harbor. There she continued to serve. She often was an officer of the Ladies Aide, a leader in other activities, and was always an active participant.
Her support also extended to her family. She was the quiet supporter. While her husband, Martin, was building a business in life insurance, she took care of their home. When her children and later on her grandchildren were involved in activities, she was there to support them. All this while she worked as a respected employee in various branches of Farmers & Merchants National Bank. She retired as assistant manager at NBD Bank, Hilltop branch, St. Joseph.
Adeline was married to Martin Krieger on June 19, 1948. Together they built a family with Diane being born in 1951 and David in 1954. Their activities at Good Shepherd Lutheran, family get togethers, and regular vacation trips throughout the USA made for a tight knit family. Martin and Adeline were adventurers. Their trips took them to historic sites and places of interest throughout the USA with their children. Later on they continued their adventures with friends and family. Hawaii, Alaska, Aruba, and Europe were highlights of their later years.
Adeline was predeceased by her husband Martin Krieger, her parents Frederick and Hannah Grams, beloved aunt and godmother, Lillian Kasischke, and sisters Evelyn Kolberg and Marian Miller/Peters,
