Albert was born to Fred and Alvina (Sempert) Reschke on May 26, 1932 in Pipestone Township. He grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Shanghai School in 1946. After his two brothers died in World War II, he became responsible for caring for his parents and the two family farms.

In 1957, he married Sally Petrich and they had three children, Ken, Joy and Michael. They were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sodus and stayed happily married for 60 years.  In 1965, they built a home on one of the farms and continued to live there for fifty-two years. In 2017, the family farm was sold and Albert and Sally moved to St. Joseph. In addition to farming, Al worked at Clark Equipment Co. in Buchanan until they moved out of state. He then worked for Nylen Products until his retirement in 1989. Besides working in the factories, Al continued farming. He was known for his quality produce, especially blackberries. Al spent his winter months working on many craft projects, which filled their home and were also given to others. His love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, led him to serve by volunteering for many projects in the church, including ushering and counting and recording donations for over 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Henry, Emil and Fred Jr.; his sisters, Anne Reschke, and Anita Wright; and his son, Michael. He is survived by his wife; his sister, Dorothy Collins; his son, Ken (Tess) Reschke; his daughter, Joy (Perry) Westerfield and three grandchildren.
