Mrs. Armilda “Millie” Jewel Redding, 91, of Benton Harbor, MI was welcomed home by Jesus Christ, her Savior on Sunday, March 02, 2014.  She was a resident of Royalton Manor, St. Joseph.

Armilda was one of seven children born to Minnie and Oscar Ryan.  She was born in McDougal, AK on May 1, 1922.  Armilda married Amos Redding on Oct. 5, 1940.  Amos and Armilda moved from Missouri  to Mich. in 1945 where they made their home.

Armilda gave her life to her Lord Jesus Christ at an early age.  She was a member of Road to Life Church in St. Joseph and enjoyed many years of fellowship and ministry with the believers there.  She retired from Univex in Benton Harbor.  Armilda loved spending time with family and greatly enjoyed first, her grandchildren and then, was even more delighted with her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters Joyce (Jerry) Wagner of St. Joseph and Janet (Richard) Levay of Grand Rapids; by 4 grandchildren: Tonya (Tom) Hough, Heather (Sammy) Githu, Brandon Levay, Christopher Levay; 3 great grandchildren: Micah Hough, Makena and Naomi Githu.  Her siblings:  Paul (Billie) Ryan, Virgie Davis, Alice (Don) Boyer.  Armilda will be greatly missed by her immediate family, friends and by her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Armilda was preceded in death by her loving husband Amos in 1967, her siblings Carl (Elsie) Ryan, Edith (Alvin) Brewer, Thelma (Earl) Redding, brother-in-law Charles Davis and a precious great granddaughter Amani Grace Githu.

A Celebration of Life Service  will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 2650 Niles Rd.,  St. Joseph, with Pastor Richard Grom officiating.  Burial will follow at North Shores Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be held from 1pm until the time of the service Wednesday.
