Betsy Nash Jacobs, 86, passed away, Monday, August 6

Betsy Nash Jacobs, 86, of Sister Lakes, passed away, Monday, August 6, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 10 at 11:00am at Fairplain Presbyterian Church 210 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor, with the Rev. Betsy was born February 29, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Thomas & Betty (Bethell) Nash, Sr.  She studied ballet at the American School of Ballet in New York City and danced with the St. Louis Municipal Opera.  Betsy earned her Master’s degree in English Literature from The University of Tulsa, where she was an active member of Chi Omega sorority and later taught English and implemented a ballet program for student athletes.  She also taught English at the high school and college levels.  On August 11, 1956, she married Ronald Joseph Jacobs in Tulsa.  Following Ron’s retirement in 1988, they moved full time to the family summer home in Sister Lakes.  Betsy was an active member of the Fairplain Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, sang in the choir, and was a member of Presbyterian Women.

Betsy is survived by her husband Ronald; her three daughters-Elizabeth (Clark) Young of Enid, OK, Rhonda (John) Augustin of Cincinnati, OH, Margaret (Tom) Mosley of Edmond, OK; six grandchildren-Katy (Jason) Staudt, Cristina (Christopher) Malone, Isabelle Augustin, Jack Augustin, Thomas Mosley and William Mosley; two great-grandchildren-Claire and Carson Malone; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her twin brother Thomas Gibson Nash, Jr.
