Donald Allen Kesterke, 86, of St. Joseph, passed away, Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, with Rev. Christopher Yeager & Rev. Martin Measel officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph, with Military Rites conducted by the North Berrien Military Rites Team.  Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.  Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, the Humane Society of SW Michigan or Hanson Hospice Center.  Those wishing to sign Don’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Don was born January 2, 1932 in St. Joseph and attended St. Joseph High School.  He served his country during the Korean War in the US Navy.  On February 9, 1957, he married the former Vivian J. Glaske in Sawyer, Michigan.  Don was employed at Heath-Zenith, retiring after 40 years of employment.  He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Watervliet VFW Post #6803, and an avid sports fan-his favorites being the Chicago Cubs and University of Michigan Wolverines.

Don is survived his sister Leona Cutter of Benton Harbor; sisters-in-law Barbara Rodgers of St. Joseph & Delores Glaske of Three Oaks; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian on November 11, 2017, an infant daughter Jill Kesterke in 1959, his parents-Frank & Olga (Fellner) Kesterke, his brother Edward Kesterke & his sister Marian Mosher.
