Gerald L. Biggart Obituary

Gerald L. "Jerry" Biggart, 82 of Coloma passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Bronson Commons in Mattawan in the company of his loving family.

Funeral services will on held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Salem Lutheran Church in Coloma with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Coloma Cemetery. Jerry was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, most notably his family who knew him as "Jerry" the dedicated and loving husband, "Dad" the mentoring and loving father, and "Papa" the wise and loving grandfather and great grandfather.

He was a lifelong golfer, avid Notre Dame fan, and enjoyed sports as a player, coach and spectator. He enjoyed planting, maintaining and harvesting his large tomato garden each year as well as keeping the feeders full for all the birds. He was also very active in his church, Salem Lutheran of Coloma, where he served for many years on the Board of Elders.

Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard, in which he enlisted in 1962 and served as a tank commander until honorably discharged in 1968. He then spent most of his working career in logistics as a terminal manager followed by a late career in real estate as an agency owner and agent before retirement.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joy Biggart (Lambert); brother Duane Sink; sons Rick (Kim) Biggart and Jeff (Angela) Biggart; grandson Erich (Sarah) Biggart; granddaughter Karlye (John) Visel; great grandchildren Paisley Biggart and Jackson Visel and his beloved canine companion, Arnie.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Howard Biggart and Martha (Cliff Sink); siblings Daryl Sink, Jim Sink and Nancy Puleo.
