John Joseph Teachout Jr.
John Joseph Teachout Jr., 88 of St. Joseph passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

John was born February 1, 1926 in Chicago, IL to John J. and Anna (Mahka) Teachout Sr. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1944. John joined the United States Marine Corps and served his country during World War II. Upon discharge he enrolled in culinary school in Chicago. John married the former Annette Crumb August 2, 1947 in St. Joseph. He joined the family business started by his father, Teachout’s Pastry Shoppe in St. Joseph. He retired from Creative Foods in Benton Harbor. John was a kind hearted man who never complained and always put everyone before himself. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
John is survived by his children- Candice Johnson of Oregon City, OR, twins Mark (Kerri) Teachout of Benton Harbor & Sherry (Tim) MacDonald of St. Joseph, Amy (Michael) Beaudette of Stevensville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Annette on October 13, 2011, his daughter Lorri Froberg October 27th, 2011, his Grandson Kelly Kuball in 2013, sister Judy Miller and brother Frank Teachout.
