Karen J. Demis January 17, 1959 - December 14, 2022

Karen J. Demis, 63, of Coloma, passed away on December 14, 2022 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Private burial of ashes will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations in Karen’s memory may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service. Karen was born January 17, 1959 in Benton Harbor to Edward and Ann (Handzel) Kafka.   She graduated from Coloma High School and was the owner of Easy Street Inn for 26 years. Karen was creative and loved doing crafts, cooking and spending time with her family.

Karen is survived by her husband John, whom she married June 13, 1981; daughter Amanda (Arthur) Moore of Watervliet, sister Roseann (Scott) Clements of Coloma, granddaughter Katelynn Kostrzewa, and several other family members and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Nancy Kafka.
